Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19), in-person classes at the Stroke Comeback Center (in Vienna and Rockville) are suspended until further notice. However, our Virtual Programs are thriving! Check out our virtual programs under our "Programs" tab.
Exercise
Exercise plays an important role in a healthy life for everyone, but for someone who has survived a stroke or other brain trauma, regular healthy exercise is vitally important. Finding the right exercise formula can be a challenge. We are happy to offer classes adapted for all levels of mobility and fitness. Classes take place at Cuppetts Dance Center adjacent to the center.
Fun and Fitness
These innovative groups combine cardio and resistance training. In addition, we add speech and cognitive activities to exercise the body and brain. All fitness and mobility levels are welcome. Groups are led by WellPeer-certified instructor, Nancy Selden. Come see how much fun you can have, and how much better you can feel!
Yoga
All Abilities Yoga: These classes encourage those of any ability level to stretch their muscles, relax the mind, become stronger, and improve balance. Classes are led by Carolyn Bagdoyan, a Certified Yoga Instructor. Participants can benefit from spending time focusing on themselves without judgment and without competition. Members and caregivers/family members are welcome to enroll in Yoga classes.
