SCC Programs	Program Description	Program Fee
Intake for Group Programs	Screening for speech and language status: aphasia, apraxia, dysarthria and other communication difficulties.  Intake includes testing, counseling, paperwork and discussion on the best fit for SCC's programs.  An appointment is required.  Call the Center at 703-255-5221. Group Program	At the Stroke Comeback Center, small groups, working within a shared interest, offer stroke survivors the opportunity to work on overcoming communication deficits. Each group is lead by a certified speech-language (SLP) pathologist who monitors the progress of each member and the group itself for communication goals.  The clinician also writes a group plan, makes adjustments if necessary, and provides homework if appropriate.  All needed supplies and materials are provided.  The clinician is available to the group member and the family to discuss goals and progress. (It may be necessary to schedule an appointment.)  A minimum of 3 registrants is necessary to schedule a group.	See Group Fee schedule on the following table.  Fees vary by length and number of groups selected.
Computer Assisted Treatment (CAT)	The SCC Computer Lab is available to our members and their caregivers. To receive maximum benefit from time spent in the CAT lab, a certified SLP will direct the treatment to determine the course and the updating of the software to be used.  Some members can work independently on the computer.   However, most members will require a computer mentor to assist with the treatment which involves pairing the member with a mentor and scheduling time in the computer lab.  This will reserve a time slot for the 9-week session and guarantee a mentor to work with the member.  The SCC professional staff will make the determination as to which members can work individually and which members need to be assigned a mentor. Individual	One-on-one sessions do not fall within the mission of the Center, which is to deliver services in small groups.  However, there are a limited number of time slots available for members to arrange individual therapy.  Because of limited availability, we must make the best use of this time and require members to attend their sessions as scheduled.  The Center reserves the right to reassign these time slots after two consecutive absences.	One hour each:  $75.  One hour is pre-paid with each session registration.

Fees and Organization The Stroke Comeback Center is organized by SESSIONS.  Each Session is 9 weeks long and there are 5 Sessions each year.  SCC pro-rates fees for recognized SCC holidays which fall within a Session.  For Center closures for weather, each registered member will be contacted and will be credited for that day's fee at the next session.  Any other unexpected closures will be announced at the Center and/or members contacted as needed; a credit or refund for the day's fee will be available.

Payment Schedule   Group Programs and Computer Assistance Treatment are prepaid with each Session registration.  Due to the amount of required bookkeeping to track absences, there is no option to pay per hour.  At the time of registraton, members will pay in advance for each group for with they enroll.  This is a non-refundable fee.   Individual sessions will invoiced each four week period.  All invoices are due on receipt.    * If a member cannot attend more than 5 weeks in a session because of illness or injury, a refund will be available.  Contact the Administrator or Executive Director for more information.

Insurance   As always, SCC will not file insurance claims and will not accept assigned insurance reimbursement.  All invoices are due on receipt.   Our fees are about 75% less than similar programs.  Thank you for supporting our fee policy so that we can continue to offer quality programs at affordable prices.

For Your Information   Consumer Advisory Board (CAB) Member are entitled to a discount:  $150 (25% off each group).  Contact the Executive Director for more information on the CAB.   Sliding Scale fees:  Based on income.   Check with the Administrator for the current scale and eligibility requirements.
