Assist
with varied office duties such as: preparing mailings, filing, word processing,
answering the phones, and photocopying. Not glamorous, but sorely needed. We always choose our members' needs over our document organization, so we
could really use your help to keep us streamlined and up to date.

Volunteering in the
Resource
Center includes organizing and updating current materials, researching
various topics such as recreational opportunities for folks with disabilities, bookmarking pertinent internet sites for easy
access, calling local resources to obtain brochures and keeping us on the cutting edge of what’s out there for stroke
survivors.

CAT (Computer Assisted Treatment) volunteers would
assist participants in using the computers and the software in the lab on an individual basis.
Some activities might include basic computer skills such as turning on/off the computer, navigating with a mouse, accessing
the internet or effectively using Center software. The stroke survivors and their
caregivers vary in skill level from never touched a computer to software engineers.
We can pair you accordingly.

Conversation partners assist folks
to use their communication strategies in group or on a one-to-one basis. Conversation
partners will be given training to facilitate their comfort level as needed.

Do you have an interest in fundraising? Participate in assuring the continuation of the Center through fundraising activities. No stroke survivor is turned away due to lack of funds. We
are always in search of new ways to fund our mission.

Are you good at just getting things done? Well
being an outreach volunteer might be right for you. Volunteers assist with networking
with other service providers to meet the needs of our clients. Creative solutions
to finding transportation, recreation, or other needed services would be your focus.

Do you have an expertise in advertising? We would appreciate your time and energy helping us to more efficiently and effectively get our message
out to the community at large. Have ideas for making sure every stroke survivor
has a place to go for help? We would love to hear them!

Are you knowledgeable in the world of publishing and authorware applications? Through many years of service to stroke survivors, the Center has developed treatment
materials and "how to" manuals that we would like to make available to other clinicians. We could really use your help.
Proceeds of the sales would go to assuring the continuation of services for all
stroke survivors.

ANY amount is very appreciated!
If you would like to be a part to the Stroke Comeback Center Scholarship Program - a $200 contribution will
support a stroke survivor for one group activity for one nine week session. Can you help?

Stroke survivors with communication deficits can continue
to recover. The sad truth is that many stroke survivors simply can’t afford
the help they need.
By supporting the Stroke Comeback Center, a nonprofit
501(c)(3) corporation, you empower stroke survivors to attain their personal best. Your gift
helps SCC to:
-
Support stroke survivors who qualify for our sliding
scale fee because of limited income
-
Expand the Center's programs to our members and stroke
families
-
Purchase needed equipment and supplies for our
member programs
